    Press release 04/2024

JUNKERS takes part in the Aero Fair and presents its latest model, the JUNKERS A50 Heritage ultralight aircraft, as well as the JUNKERS A50 Junior, the JUNKERS A60 and the WACO YMF-5 biplane.

    Friedrichshafen, April 09, 2024

JUNKERS is pleased to announce its participation in this year’s Aero Messe in Friedrichshafen. The show will take place from April 17-20 and will be attended by aviation enthusiasts from all over the world.

Visitors will find JUNKERS in Hall A3, Stand 117, where the company will be presenting the following machines: the JUNKERS A50 Junior, the A50 Heritage, the JUNKERS A60 and the WACO YMF-5.

    JUNKERS A50 Junior

The JUNKERS A50 Junior is a 600 kg ultralight aircraft that is based on its historic 1929 model of the same name. The low-wing aircraft combines historical flair with the latest technology. As standard, the aircraft is equipped with a Rotax 912iS / 4-cylinder injection 100 hp engine, 2-blade MT propeller, Beringer brakes, GARMIN avionics (G3X) and a Galaxy rescue system. This enables flights with the highest safety standards.

The unveiling of the European premiere of the Junkers A50 Heritage

With the worldwide market launch of the JUNKERS A50 Heritage, JUNKERS presents an ultralight aircraft that has been faithfully reconstructed according to the original design from the 1920s. In contrast to the JUNKERS A50 Junior, the JUNKERS A50 Heritage is equipped with a 7-cylinder radial engine (Verner Scarlet 7U / 124 hp) which, together with an MT wooden propeller and analog instruments, offers an even more authentic flying experience. The Beringer brakes and the Galaxy rescue system have been adopted from the A50 Junior and are standard equipment.

    JUNKERS A60 with hood

The JUNKERS A60 is the latest Junkers model and, like its sister aircraft, is based on the historic model, the Junkers A50 Junior. A newly developed tripod retractable undercarriage provides even more style and an enhanced flying experience, and above all the fact that the pilot and passenger sit next to each other in the cabin.

The Junkers A60 is presented to the public for the first time at the Aero trade fair with a canopy.

WACO YMF-5, built in Battle Creek (USA)

These newly produced, modern biplanes with their historic appearance are attracting increasing interest on the European market. The WACO YMF-5 exhibited at the fair, with its 300 hp/7-cylinder radial engine, conveys the feeling of flying in the “golden age” of aviation.

The aircraft is precisely hand-built according to the original plans from the 1930s with great attention to detail. However, the standard of construction and technology integrations are fully modernized to maximize the enjoyment and safety of pilot and passengers. The bespoke biplane is fitted with exclusive leather seats and upholstery, while the GARMIN avionics package provides the adventurous aviator with the highest level of navigation and visual information.

JUNKERS cordially invites all visitors to the fair. All aircraft can be inspected at your leisure. All information about the stylish and innovative technologies and products will be available at the stand.

    About JUNKERS Aircraft GmbH

The tradition of JUNKERS Aircraft goes back well over 100 years and was founded by Professor Hugo Junkers (1859 to 1935), who had a lasting influence on the development of aviation in the 20th century with his versatile patents. Today’s JUNKERS Aircraft GmbH has set itself the task of reviving old traditional aviation brands. The first major goal was achieved with the replica of the Junkers F13, series production of which began in 2018. Three years later, in 2021, the first prototype of the Junkers A50 Junior took off. In 2023, the A60 successfully completed its first flight. In 2024, the JUNKERS A60 and the JUNKERS A50 Heritage will be launched and we invite you to celebrate tradition and progress in the revival of aviation history with us.
