Passers-by and motorists must have been quite astonished when our Junkers A50 Junior mingled with the traffic in Frankfurt. But the two pilots, whose outfits would have been a real eye-catcher even without an airplane, were by no means lost. The action was part of a special photo shoot.
Who would have thought that the dream of flying and the fine sense for unusual fashion would go so well together? Fashion giant Gucci is a big fan of the reissued Junkers A50 Junior. In particular, its clean lines and retro-look design harmonize perfectly with the creations of the Italian noble brand. This gave rise to the idea of making the aircraft, with its 1930s charm, a main protagonist in the new Gucci photo shoot for Marie Claire magazine.
In order to unite these two worlds with the necessary visual sophistication, those responsible collaborated with photographer Cintia Barroso. It quickly became clear that an unusual setting was needed for the shoot. Barroso suggested having the plane and models drive through the busy streets of Frankfurt – including a pit stop. The results are unique motifs with an unmistakable flair.
