AERO was a resounding success for Junkers Aircraft. In addition to many engaging discussions, international attention, and another strong showing, there was one special highlight: the Junkers A60 received its official type certificate during the trade show.
This brings the total number of certified Junkers aircraft to three: the Junkers A50 Junior, the A50 Heritage, and the Junkers A60.
The A60, in particular, impressively demonstrates what Junkers Aircraft stands for today. It is a modern interpretation of the aircraft that Hugo Junkers built as early as the 1930s\u2014and at the same time, a glimpse of how we imagine he would design aircraft today.
The A60 combines classic lines with modern technology. It comes standard with fixed landing gear, and in the future it will also be available with retractable landing gear. Another special feature: the canopy can be swapped out in just a few simple steps for an open cockpit configuration with a windshield.
The high level of interest on-site also demonstrated just how much the Junkers Aircraft brand has grown in recognition over the past year.
